Hi everyone. I’m trying to help my niece Candice and her baby girl Zaya. Candice has a daughter, Zaya, who is 2 years old. She is Candice’s whole world! Candice and Zaya’s father went their separate ways and he recently moved to Arizona. He is now fighting for full custody of Zaya. Zaya has always, since birth, lived with Candice and her family in California. Candice and Zaya live with Candice’s mom, Tina who is there to help raise Zaya while Candice works and goes to school to provide a good life for her daughter. Their house is often full of family that have been around Zaya since day one, Aunts, Uncles, cousins...Zaya moving away from everyone and everything she has ever known (to another state!) would be traumatizing for such a little girl. Candice has had to hire an attorney to keep up in court. The case is now going to trial which is very expensive for a single mother with no child support. She is not trying to keep Zaya away from her father at all. She’s been trying so hard to work on reasonable visitation. We just don’t want her uprooted completely.
