For nearly three years, my X (formerly Twitter) account, @HamasAtrocities, served as a dedicated independent archive documenting the horrors of the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks and ongoing jihadist atrocities. What began as a response to an unimaginable tragedy grew into a vital community of 189,000 followers relying on accurate, unvarnished documentation.
In August 2026, my work was abruptly silenced.
A Record of History, Penalized Out of Context
On August 12, 2026, X suspended my account. The reason they gave me was not anything I posted. It was my profile picture: a world-famous Associated Press photograph from October 7, published by major news outlets worldwide and awarded first prize at Pictures of the Year International. I chose it precisely because of its undeniable historical and journalistic notoriety, fully aligned with my mission to document history truthfully. In my version, the account name covered the most sensitive part of the image.
Arbitrary Enforcement and a Closed Door
I immediately appealed and offered to change or remove the photo. X refused. Their rejection email said a violation "did take place, specifically:" and then said nothing at all. The account is now permanently locked in read-only mode. I can't post, Comment or share, I can't reach my followers, I've been removed from the creator program, and X has even barred me from opening a new account. I have also been removed from the app's messaging platform—the only channel I had to directly and personally communicate with many other X accounts.
X’s support system claimed functionality could be restored by resolving the violation, yet provided no avenue to do so. One image. No warning, no chance to fix it. Just the maximum penalty, immediately and permanently.
Why Am I Fighting Back in Court
This is bigger than my account; in my opinion, it is a fight against arbitrary corporate censorship that silences uncomfortable truths without due process.
Where the Funds Go
Defending free speech against a global tech conglomerate requires substantial resources. I am looking to raise €12,000 to directly cover:
- Legal fees and court costs associated with the proceedings before the Tribunal of Milan.
- Expert legal representation required to compel X to restore the account, and uphold digital accountability.
Every euro goes to the legal fight. I'll post updates here at every step, including court decisions, and if the court orders X to cover my legal costs the funds will go to the families of our heroic IDF soldiers who fell in the battles against Hamas.
If you believe in transparency, historical documentation, and holding powerful platforms accountable to standards of fairness and proportionality, please consider contributing or sharing this campaign. Every bit of support helps me ensure that truth and voice cannot be erased by the stroke of a corporate pen.
Thank you for standing with me.
I've spoken about my work documenting October 7 with Amir Tsarfati (https://youtu.be/Qq6aV0wzKpA) and, in Italian, with Paola Kafira (https://youtu.be/DbIOGhSonVs and https://youtu.be/yV594XMnkic). I also host my own podcast on Israel and the region (https://youtu.be/iuo70MxpMNc?si=LBz58oTBjF1j_2fF).
