18 year old girl suffers brain damage

• THE BACK STORY •
We are raising money for a 18 year old Morgan, a lady very close to our hearts from hartshorne, who on the 26th January 2024 was involved in a devastating riding accident. This has caused extreme damage including brain damage , broken ribs , bruised lungs and other minor injury’s.
Morgan was put into an induced coma at the time of the accident and taken to Nottingham Intensive Care Unit , where she spent 6 weeks on life support. She has now been transferred to Leicester General Brain Injury Unit. She has recently regained consciousness and is being assessed to allow the family to understand the extent of her brain damage and how much she will recover. At present , the family have been told that she won’t be able to walk again and are unsure is she will be able to communicate in the future. Family and friends are trying to save money to purchase any specialist equipment , including a specialist wheelchair along with supporting any rehabilitation that Morgan will need , which I’m sure you can appreciate it is difficult especially with them travelling twice a day minimum , every day , too and from Leicester. Having a specialist wheelchair along with rehabilitation will get her one step closer to one day being able to have home visits.
Morgan had recently passed her driving test and was just starting out on her journey in life to compete in many horse shows and competitions with a dream of ending up competing at Badminton, which has been her only dream in life since the age of 4.
We appreciate any donations you are able to make , every penny will help and the family will be forever grateful!
