Over the past ten years, together we have raised more than $68,000 through our Annual Holiday Toy Drive for underprivileged children in Jersey City. With the partnership of our good friends Gina and Jason Velliquette, this effort has grown from a simple idea into a powerful annual tradition. Each year, more family, friends, and colleagues join in, and each year we bring holiday joy to more children who truly need it.
December is here, which means it is time for our 11th Annual Holiday Toy Drive!
This is our 9th year partnering with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hudson County and our 3rd year partnering with Kismet of Kings . Together, we provide toys and holiday support to hundreds of children in need. We are incredibly proud to work alongside these outstanding organizations that have such a meaningful impact on our community.
Last year, we raised $12,000 and provided more than 150 children with multiple gifts through a Target shopping spree that helped make their holidays brighter.
This year, our goal is to raise $11,000. We will once again use GoFundMe to manage and track donations efficiently.
From the very beginning, it has been critically important to us that every dollar raised goes directly to the children we are supporting. GoFundMe charges a standard processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per donation and Johanna & I will personally cover those fees (up to $1,000) so that 100% of your contribution benefits the kids.
In addition, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hudson County will make all purchases through their corporate account, which allows them to buy gifts without sales tax. This stretches every donation even further and increases the number of children we can support.
How You Can Help
To reach this year’s goal, we need your help in two important ways:
