Before the new season begins later this month, DKU is asking for help with donations from the DKU Universe for the first half of the year for what the channel needs to pay in keeping everything going – internet/vpn, vault storage and power along with money needed for new blu-rays and computer drives and other parts to keep the pcs which are being used to run the streams, with hopes of a new pc to replace the one that promos and ads are created on.

Our goal is up to $4000 to cover for the next 6 to 8 months with rising monthly costs of maintaining equipment/digital services and future expanding plans.

As always, there are no charges/fees to watch the channel which operates under the ‘fair use” agreement. However, most of the cost to pay for equipment, software and online fees were and still are out-of-pocket expenses, but we’re at a point where we need help, even to keep the lights on.

Behind Daikaiju TV are just a few that devoted their lives and time keeping the channel going, with the support of family/friends - paying for hosting, subscriptions, tech gear, platform maintenance, and more. But now, the personal financial support that once kept the channel alive is shrinking. Your support will directly go to the cost of maintaining the passion for this channel to allow for the focus on content, programming, and keeping the DKU Universe community going.

ABOUT DKU:

Daikaiju TV was created in August of 2015 to provide entertainment for the members of the Facebook group, Toho Kaiju Union, showcasing on the rare films, episodes and videos from the Tokusatsu genre that wasn't really accessible to anyone at the time, including the vintage stuff from the 1960s through the 1990s. Slowly, new things were added to the line-up, such as vintage B-films and classic animation and rare Japanese drama/horror films

In 2018, the channel needed to expand into something more for everyone else in the world. But soon afterwards, the rare became not so much as Toho and other studios opened up their library to the rest of the world, including other streaming services for license deals and other fees. But in midst of all this abundance of watching anything from favorite kaiju films to any Ultraman episode, DKU still went on and continued to show other rare videos, including the vintage theatrical and tv dubs that most grew up watching. And when those same deals expired, the many choices began to just fade away for a few to remain, including DKU.

During the lockdown of 2020, DKU was one of the main sources for everyone that was stuck at home with nothing good on to watch, giving viewers a more of a variety of stuff to see. Five years later, that continues to be one of the original reasons behind the streaming channel and continues to build the DKU Universe community that celebrates this material, which has and always will bring immense joy to everyone.
