Edit:
Since our last fundraiser, Crowsmill have very kindly allowed Kevin to keep using the centre. The money raised helped to support this.
We are currently trying to get Kevin funding to enable him to keep going. So know it is time to give the centre something back again.
So…. Saturday 25th July I will be ‘attempting’ to climb The Wrekin 10 times in 12 hours!!
The centre and its staff means so much to Kevin and our family, so any donation or share is appreciated so very much.
In September last year, my husband Kevin aged 42 was sadly diagnosed with a rare type of early onset dementia. Dementia is a life limiting condition affecting the brain, meaning that unfortunately Kev can no longer work.
Anyone who knows Kev will know he loves people, from all walks of life. After his diagnosis he lost the social interaction that work gave him, his confidence and self esteem was low as well as coping with his diagnosis this was all devastating for him.
Most dementia support groups are aimed at older people and I struggled to find somewhere that Kev can have time on his own, keep his mind and body active and give him his independence back.
A friend of mine recommended Crowsmill. Crowsmill is a centre based in Alveley just outside Bridgnorth that accommodates people with mental health issues, veterans, people with physical and learning difficulties as well as disaffected young people with challenging behaviours, from the moment we looked around I knew Kev would love it. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and I knew they understood Kev’s needs and would meet them.
Kev attends 3 times a week and the course is for 12 weeks, each time he comes home he asks when he’s going back again.
As a way to say thank you and show our support for Crowsmill myself, Morgan, Kerry, Jenni, Laura, Leah, Georgia, Briar, Minnie, and Kevs good friend Acky will make the journey of 18 miles from my Telford to Alveley on the 6th September.
Please support us in anyway you can, thank you.
