Last year, I started a fundraiser in memory of my cousin’s wife, Lyndsay, who heartbreakingly passed away from cancer, leaving behind four beautiful children, her youngest Willow was only 4 at the time.
I wasn’t able to finish what I started after breaking my wrist — but this year, I’m determined to do it for her.
This November, I’ll be running 100K in Lyndsay’s memory, to raise money to help give her family a magical Christmas — one filled with love, laughter, and no financial worries.
As a mum myself, I often think about how unfair life can be. I don’t understand why I get to watch my children grow and she doesn’t. It’s something that stays with me every day — the heartbreak, the injustice, and the strength Lyndsay showed through it all.
Lyndsay was an incredible mother — strong, loving, and full of light. Even when her youngest daughter, Willow, was diagnosed with cancer, she stayed brave and positive, never letting fear take over. Lyndsay fought through every moment of Willow’s treatment, celebrating the wonderful day her little girl was declared in remission. Tragically, not long after, Lyndsay received her own devastating diagnosis.
Despite everything, she continued to smile, to love, and to give her children the most beautiful memories. This fundraiser is a way to keep that love alive — to make sure her children feel the warmth of the community around them, especially at Christmas.
If you can, please donate or share — every little bit will help make their Christmas that bit brighter.
