$10,000 for MRKH — Road to Whistler 100K

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

I’m so happy you’re here.

My name is Kylie. Last year, I ran my first ultramarathon and raised $4,000 for MRKH. This year, we’re going further and setting bigger goals.

In September 2026, I will run my first 100K ultramarathon, Ultra Trail Whistler by UTMB. By the time I cross that finish line, I want to have raised $10,000 for MRKH.

Do these goals scare me? Absolutely. But they also excite me. I know hope and growth live on the other side of the unknown, and I want to step into that — and bring others with me.

If you’d like to support right now, you can donate or share this page with one person.

A Little About Me

I was born with MRKH, which for me means I was born without a uterus.

MRKH (Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome) is a rare congenital condition that affects approximately 1 in 5,000 women and people assigned female at birth. It causes the uterus and upper vaginal canal to be underdeveloped or absent, and can also involve other related health impacts.

My journey, however, goes far beyond a diagnosis.

When I was diagnosed, I tried to outrun it — wishing MRKH wasn’t part of my story. That denial, and my unwillingness to face reality, led me into some of the most challenging and isolating periods of my life. When you’re desperate to change something unchangeable about yourself, it can feel like there’s almost nothing you won’t do to escape your own mind.

Eventually, I learned that the only way out is through. Facing what I had been avoiding was painful, but it showed me that it is possible to climb out of dark places and reignite strength within yourself.

Training gave me a way back — not as an escape, but as a practice. It rebuilt mental presence and mind–body connection after years of disconnection. I learned how to face hard things without abandoning myself. I learned how to stay present when my mind wanted to spiral. I learned how to rebuild trust with my own body.

Speaking Up Changed My Life

I launched my 2025 fundraiser almost one year ago with no idea what was ahead of me.

Speaking up changed my life. It connected me to people across the world and opened doors to advocacy, speaking, and community — including connecting me with BYMRKH, who I am now working more closely with in 2026. This year, I was invited to speak at MRKH Canada’s annual conference at SickKids, and I will be representing MRKH Canada internationally as a selected speaker at an upcoming global MRKH conference. These opportunities have reinforced how powerful awareness, representation, and shared stories can be — and how much more work there is to do.

Last year showed me what’s possible — and it lit a fire in me to keep going. To run further. To reach more people. To educate more. To create bigger impact.

The Road to Whistler

This season has one peak:
Ultra Trail Whistler by UTMB
100 kilometers — September 2026

On the road there, I’ll race three ultra events:
  • Moab Run the Rocks (3 Day Stages Ultra) — March 2026
  • Sunburn Solstice Relay Ultra — June 2026
  • Whistler 100K — September 2026

What Your Donation Supports — and Why It Matters

MRKH is often diagnosed during adolescence or young adulthood, at a time when identity, body image, and future dreams are still forming. For many, the diagnosis comes suddenly and with little public awareness or understanding. This can lead to feelings of isolation, grief, anxiety, depression, and a deep sense of being “different” or alone.

Because MRKH is rare and widely misunderstood, many individuals struggle to find accurate information, appropriate medical care, and mental health support. Too often, people navigate this diagnosis in silence.

Your donation helps support:
  • Awareness and education, so MRKH is better understood by the public, healthcare providers, and those newly diagnosed
  • Advocacy, ensuring the voices of those with MRKH are represented and heard
  • Research, to improve understanding, care, and long-term outcomes
  • Community and mental health support, which are critical for helping individuals process diagnosis, rebuild self-trust, and feel less alone

In real life, this support looks like educational resources for newly diagnosed individuals, mental health programming, advocacy initiatives, and community spaces where people with MRKH can find accurate information, connection, and support — often for the first time.

Last year, this community helped raise $4,000 for MRKH, showing what’s possible when people come together. This year, the goal is to go further — in distance, in reach, and in impact.

No amount is too small. Every donation helps move awareness, advocacy, research, and mental health support forward.

What You Can Expect From Me

I’ll share training, fundraising updates, and race coverage on Instagram at @kylie.motivated, including race-week updates during Moab, Sunburn, and Whistler.

Join Me on This Journey

Running, for me, symbolizes resilience, mental wellness, and learning what you’re capable of when you stop shrinking yourself. It’s also taught me what’s possible when you continue to show up for yourself — day after day — and how dedication, consistency, and commitment are what ultimately carry you to goals that once felt impossible.

This season is a celebration of how far I’ve come, who I am today, and what we can achieve together.

By dedicating these races to MRKH and mental health awareness, I hope to inspire hope and create ripples of positivity — not just for the MRKH community, but for anyone who has faced adversity.

I’m committed to showing up — not just on race day, but in the work before and after — because I know firsthand how access to information, mental health support, and community can change a life.

Your support — whether through donating, sharing this page, or following along — means everything to me.

This isn’t just my race.

It’s for all of us.

With gratitude and hope,

Kylie
