Hi, my name’s John, and together with Andy Smith and Dean Lloyd we’re raising money to support Tracey Sherratt, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer.

Tracey isn’t just anyone to us — she’s the mum of our closest friend, Danny Lloyd. Growing up, Tracey and her home were a huge part of our lives. We practically lived there as teenagers — rent-free, always fed, and always made to feel welcome. Tracey had this amazing way of treating us like her own, and her warmth, laughter, and kindness created so many of our best memories.

On Saturday 6th December, the four of us will be taking on a 100-mile bike ride from Manchester to Wales to raise money that will go directly to Tracey, to help support her through this incredibly difficult time.

After finding out that Tracey is facing cancer in four different places, we knew we had to do something — to give back, even just a little, for all the love and care she showed us over the years. We hope this helps take a small weight off her shoulders while she goes through treatment and faces life’s challenges, especially as she’s currently unable to work.

None of us are regular fitness fanatics — only one of the four of us trains regularly — so this 100-mile ride is definitely going to test us. But we’re determined to do it for Tracey and for Danny, to show them both just how much they mean to us and to everyone who knows them.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference and remind Tracey that she’s not facing this alone.
