My daughter is just 10 years old, but after recently witnessing someone who was homeless and clearly in need, she came away with a much bigger understanding of how fortunate she is — and how many people sadly don’t have the same security she does.

What she saw really stayed with her.

Rather than just feeling upset and carrying on with her day, she decided she wanted to do something to help. She asked if she could raise money for people experiencing homelessness, and chose to support Turning Tides, a charity doing incredible work to help people move away from homelessness and towards a safer, more secure future.

To raise money, she has decided to take on a 10-mile sponsored bike ride!

And if you know her, you'll know just how big a challenge this actually is! She absolutely hates any distance involving walking, cycling or pretty much any form of exercise, so agreeing to cycle 10 miles is definitely her stepping outside of her comfort zone.

But she feels strongly enough about helping others that she’s willing to give it a go — and we couldn’t be prouder of her for that.

At 10, she may not be able to change the world, but she understands that she can make a difference to one person at a time.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will mean so much to her and will help support Turning Tides and the people they work with.
