Hi there,
We're Ayelet HaShachar - a grassroots, lay-led, community-driven Jewish congregation based in Sydney/Eora, Australia. Embracing progressive values, our egalitarian community finds its root in the rhythms of Hebrew prayers and melodies. We use Hebrew prayer & music to connect to people and Jewish tradition in an authentic and meaningful way, always ensuring our doors are open to everyone.
Our beginnings are way back in 2010, and we've been running consistently since 2018 with a dedicated team of volunteers. We've celebrated weddings, baby namings and a Bat Mitzvah. We've hosted gatherings and services for Yom Kippur, Rosh HaShanah, Pesach, and Sukkot and our weekly Kabbalat Shabbat services are a testament to our commitment. Our growing community provides a place for Jewish people to sing, connect, and own their Jewish identities and heritages.
In order for us to be sustainable and continue to grow our community, programs and offerings, we need your financial support. Our annual 10 Days of Giving is our main source of funding. Our goal is to raise $10,000, and we’re thrilled to share that members from our community are generously matching each $1 donated.
These funds will go towards:
- Ongoing operation and overhead costs
- The renting of venue spaces
- Designing and printing our siddurim and machzorim
- Training and stipends for our hard-working team
- Keeping our services complimentary and accessible for all.
