The Plympton Football Club community is coming together to support one of our own, Adam Baird.

If you’ve spent time around our junior footy club, chances are you’ve seen Adam helping somewhere. Whether it’s goal umpiring, first aid, ground marshal duties, helping coaches, setting up, packing down, or simply stepping in wherever needed, Adam is always there.

He’s the type of person every club hopes to have. Quietly dependable, selfless, and always willing to help others before himself.

Adam is now facing the toughest challenge of his life.

After previously fighting and beating cancer, devastatingly, the cancer has returned. As he undergoes treatment again, the financial pressure on Adam and his family has become enormous.

Adam’s two boys, Nate (Under 12s) and Josh (Under 14s), are valued members of our Bulldogs family, and right now we want to make sure their family feels the full support of the club and wider community behind them.

This fundraiser has been created to help ease some of the financial stress during this incredibly difficult time, helping with everyday living expenses, medical costs, bills, and allowing Adam to focus on what matters most: his health and his family.

Anyone who knows Adam knows he would never ask for help himself. That’s why we’re asking on his behalf.

RUN WITH DAVE

Club Volunteer Dave Piasente is stepping up in an incredible way to support Adam and his family.

From July 21st to July 30th, 2026, Dave will be running 10km every single day for 10 straight days.

Starting: Plympton Football Club

⏰ 6:00am every morning

And we want the whole community involved. Whether you can run: 1km, 5km or the full 10km.

Come down and run with Dave to support this great cause and show the strength of the Bulldog community.

Across the 10 days we’ll have themed community runs involving junior teams, parents, past players, sponsors and supporters, all rallying together for the Baird family.
