My name is Dargham. I am 20 years old and a university student from North Gaza. Before the war, my life was simple and full of hope. I was studying nursing, working hard toward my dream of becoming a nurse so I could help the sick and injured. I lived with my family of ten — my father, my mother, my sisters, and the children who filled our home with life. Everything changed when the war came. Our home was destroyed by bombing. We lost the place that held all our memories, safety, and stability. My two sisters lost their husbands in the war, leaving behind children who are now living with us. These children now depend on us for care, food, and protection. Today, I am the only provider for my family. We live in a damaged tent that has been torn by wind and heat. There is no steady work in Gaza, no income, and no secure shelter. My father is 60 years old and cannot work. My brother is injured in his legs. I was also injured during the war. My younger sisters are still children and depend on me for everything. My baby sister is suffering from malnutrition because we cannot consistently provide enough nutritious food. Watching her grow weaker has been one of the hardest parts of this tragedy. We struggle daily just to find food, water, and basic necessities. I watch my family suffer, and I feel helpless because I cannot provide what they need. Many nights I cannot sleep because of the fear and responsibility I carry. Despite everything, I still hold on to one dream: To continue my education. To return to studying nursing. To become someone who heals others instead of only living through pain.
