Donating Blankets to the Hospital

Our names are John & Kara Huntinghouse and Demetrius and Audrey Matuauto.

The idea for this campaign started when our (John and Kara) one day old baby was admitted to Primary Children’s Hospital and diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s Disease (pictured above). After spending over a week in the hospital we were greatly impacted by the donations we received during our stay. We have always wanted to help other families who are going through similar situations.

As we were talking with our friends Demetrius and Audrey, we found out that they were in the process of making and donating blankets to the children’s hospital in our city. We loved this idea and created the SMILE blankets.

When a child is in the hospital, all the small things add up. When they are sick and spend all of their time in the same place day after day, little things start becoming miracles. SMILE is an acronym for “Small miracles in life everyday.” Please help us remind these children to look for the small miracles in their lives everyday.

Any amount helps us bring us that much closer to bringing warm blankets to children in the hospital here in Utah.  Also, for a $25 donation, we will ship you a SMILE blanket as well for helping us move this cause forward.
