Drop The Knife & Save A Life

1 knife attack every 16 minutes is happening on our streets today.
Knife Crime is the fastest growing killer of young people today... yet the government aren't acting. Instead, they have cut our policing budget by £700million, slashed our police force by 20,000 officers and reduced stop and search powers.
With gang culture being glorified and street violence on the rise, this epidemic is spreading, it’s leaving more mothers to mourn their children and so much future potential wasted.
Drop The Knife is a knife crime awareness program aimed to drive AWARENESS and ACTION to reduce knife crime on our streets. Launched by ex Athlete - Will Flint after he fell victim to a horrific knife attack on New Years Day 2017.
Heading home from meeting friends on New Year’s Day he stopped to use a cashpoint. Whilst there he witnessed a girl being assaulted by a man on the street.
Will intervened and when he did the man pulled out a kitchen knife started stabbed him continuously, leaving Will fighting for his life with 12 stab wounds; a punctured lung, paralysed diaphragm, severed spleen and lacerated stomach.
Will Flint: A year on from the incident I have made the decision to return to the bodybuilding stage and compete one last time. On Sunday 16th September, I’ll be entering into a prestigious National Fitness Competition: PCA Men’s Physique.
Throughout my recovery, I battled with a lot. Not just physical scars but mental ones too, the mental implications of violence are often the most permanent and crippling. Hopefully my journey can go some way to inspiring people that they can get back up and recover after a traumatic life-changing event.
This is why I’ve decided to raise money in partnership with multiple Knife Crime Prevention trusts to bring an innovative and effective program to UK schools, discouraging our youth from a life of violence and to BRING BACK THE FIGHT against knife crime: the fastest growing killer on our streets.
The money will be spent on educating young people on the effects of knife crime and the damage it causes to victims and their families. The program will be rolled out to local schools as an engaging seminar designed to leave a powerful impact on childrens’ minds showing them the devastation carrying a knife can cause.
