Domestic violence is an ugly reality that many within our society face everyday. Its real, hurtful, and often times can result in tragedy. Far too many times when the horrific abuse and violence associated with domestic violence rears its ugly head, those who are innocent and vulnerable within homes where such behavior exist, like small children who are greatly impacted, can have their entire world shattered by the lost of their mother, father or both. Many of these kids are left behind and are ushered into foster homes with a very bleak outlook for the future.

This campaign is about two such children who lost their mother to domestic abuse when she was murdered at the hands of their father this past weekend. Now young M'Lya Ruffin and Oryanna Ruffin ages 5 & 7, are left in this world facing an uncertain future with both parents out of their lives. Left to care for these beautiful and precious children, is their inexperienced 20 year old brother, whom has just began to tred a path for his own future.

Its expected that the girls will eventually receive social securty benefits from their mother's work as a health care professional for over 20 years, but the process is filled with redtape and very time consuming. These children were provided for very well in their short lives, and our family, who isn't wealthy, are concerned for their care in the immediate future (6 months to a 1 year).

To insure that these babies have food, clothing, and everything they need as small children should, we tearfully request that anyone who has compassion for their plight, donate what ever they can for this campaign to help us insure that these children aren't left behind due to this untimely tragedy that has impacted their lives. While we ask for a minimum donation of $5 dollars from each donor, any amount would be sufficient to help our babies.

Details about their tragic story here:  https://www.facebook.com/BaltimoreCityPolice/posts/10153922001041956

We thank you all in advance for any consideration you may have afforded our family, and these precious children.

Thank you. God Speed.

Thank you for doing this David, too often we forget those who must deal with the aftermath of these 'stories'. They aren't stories, they are our brothers and sisters and we need to be reminded that they are real people with real lives that need mending.
