Cincinnati Aviation Heritage Society & Museum

Cincinnati Aviation Heritage Society is a 501c3 organization. 

All funds go directly in to the CAHS bank account so you can feel at ease donating directly to our CAHS Account.

We are currently seeking new members. Your donations regardless of amount will entitle you to membership in the organization. You're helping fund a unique museum and first step to introduce young adults in the East End to STEM and how it relates to aviation.

Did you know? The first professional Baseball team to travel by air was in fact the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds chartered an American Airlines DC-2 to travel to Chicago to face the Chicago Cubs on the 8th of June 1934.

American Airways was born in Cincinnati as a result of AVCO combining many of it's aviation holdings after acquiring C.A.M. 24 from its sister airline, Embry-Riddle.

Renamed American Airlines in 1941, the airline was acquired by US AIRWAYS in a reverse meger. The American name survived, it has US Airways (America West) management. US AIRWAYS came to life in 1939 as All American Airways whose westernmost station was Cincinnati. Today the conglomeration is once again ALL American.

CAHS collection is heavy with items from all the airlines within today's American Airlines. This is due largely to the fact our curator, Charlie Pyles retired after 35 +  years with USAIRWAYS and it's predecessors.

Cincinnati was home to Aeronca which built the ubiquitous C-2 and C-3 Flying Bathtubs. The Metal Aircraft Flamingo was also built here as was the Crosley Flea and Moonbeam. LeBlond and Aeronca aircraft engines were also built here.

We're building our museum to commemorate
all civilian aviation.  "The Rest of Aviation".
