SHIMMY MOB ending domestic violence

Shimmy Mob is a world-wide fund raising event to raise awareness and funds supporting local shelters for victims of domestic violence. Shimmy Mob Long Beach has partnered up with Su Casa, our local shelter that provides housing, support, supplies and advice for families affected by domestic violence. 

Many of those receiving services from Su Casa are women and children who have escaped their circumstances at home and are in need of housing and basic supplies. Su Casa provides a safe place for the families to stay until they are able to get back on their feet. The shelter also provides therapy for victims and their families along with other resources. Many of the items needed at the shelter include food, books, toys, house hold supplies.  Su Casa helps men and women prepare and seek jobs so that they can begin to rebuild their life one step at a time. 

Shimmy Mob holds an annual fundraising event that culminates in May. The Long Beach team had 42 dancers last year and raised $1,600. This year the team would like to be able to present Su Casa with a $10,000 donation to support their efforts in helping our community become stronger and free from domestic violence, one family at a time. Please join us and help us raise the money that is needed to provide for those who do not have the comfort of returning to a home that is safe and nurturing. These victims and their children are not in far off lands, they are here in our community. Please make any donation you are able, every dollar counts.
