Today Juan Carlos had to testify on the Theresa Owens trial, I spoke with Emma and asked how was everything,.
How did you feel? I asked, her response was; " It was tiering we were called at 9:30 and it went until 3:00pm still JC return home to set to work, "I don't know how he does it" she said, (JC works from home).
As you al know it's been more than a year since that awful day.
We all have gone back to our own lifes, our own struggle our own thoughts.
And I feel so bad for not being able to do something more, for not been able to keep track of the fund lately for feeling tired and stressed ( my own stuff), as we all do sometimes, I feel bad beacuse I did not do what I was supposed to do. I committed to help and reach a goal and I have fail. I know there is no $ that can last enough to cover the expenses JC condition have caused, Insurance have said this is all and no more therapy has been authorized , and very important therapies have been now cut because the isurance won't cover it any more. (We'll talk about insurances later) I have fail because I did not keep, you updated , because I should've do something else I should've done more.
I'm grateful that we were able to raise the amount we did,
I don't know what to do when I see the distress that Emma and JC have every day on their lifes,
I'm so sorry Emma and JC, I wish I could done more.
Today I asked you again please share this link it might go to someone that have not received it yet, help us reach at least enough for JC to continue with the very important therapies he needs, his muscles are vanishing for the lack of movement, sores are showing constantly because of the weight pressure and lack of change of position, he needs his therapy.
I don't know if we should keep going with the fund, I just know I could done better.
To all of you thank you again.
This is the link of JC's appearnce on the trial today. https://www.facebook.com/clauvinolo/posts/10206438172167578
I took the liberty to share with everyone these words from one of our kind supporters, thanks so much.
Don't know you guys, but made a dontion through a mutual friend who cares for you. I am extremely glad to read that things are getting better for you. It also makes me believe (in times when it's hard to do so) that there is still compassion, kindness and a strong sense of soliarity among people. Even when they do not know eachother. We are all part of a chain of good which, hopefully, will teach our children about the power of kindness and help them to shape a better world than the one we have forged. This is the spirit that helps other heal, survive and lead a fulfilling life. I wish that the recovery goes on and that we all remain linked thorugh this chain. Peace and strenght!
I would like to share with you some words that JC shared on FB, he asked me to post it as an update so he could reach all of you that have been present during this time.
"Yesterday it was a year from my accident and I'd like to take this opportunity to truly thank everyone who has supported me and my family! Not only the economical help, which has been so vital to us, but mostly the moral support. I truly think I would have not made it so far without it. I've had the opportunity to make many new friends and happy to say that many existing friendships have grown stronger. Everyone who reached out to me, not only at the hospital but throughout this whole dificult year has really made me feel loved and has given me the strength to go on. Forgive me for not mentioning each and one of you, but if I do I'm afraid someone might be left out. And to my wife and kids I must say that I am forever in your debt for the love and daily effort you put into my well being. I love you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
Thanks to all,
and from me...
Please keep sharin our link.
An update. What else can I say after one year of this terrible accident. What can I say about JC an his family ... I will start saying how fortunate I was to witness on Tuesday night at fiesta Island during the 46th SDBC/MGE End less Summer Beach Party Ride of Courage the smile on Danielita's face when her dad's name was mentioned, she looked at him and clap so hard while her face showed emotion and proudness. They were so right we were celebrating LIFE and he is here today with his family !
And yes he rode his bike with Pat Murray, Allen, and more than 70 other cyclists around Fiesta Island.
I have not doubt that is in the hard times when we get to know people, and that there is still good people who act without expecting anything in return, even when for some seems difficult to belive it.
Each one of you new and old friends, have with your prayers and donations give Daniela that smile, Ema the necessary serenity and strength for this first difficult year, JC peace of mind while trying to put his mind into recovery, Eduardo more energy than needed!
JC improves every day, Thanks to all!
I...I just took the first step, you... you build the path, the path of faith and courage that now is been followed by JC and his family. Let's continue celebrating LIFE!
Thanks so much,
Would you share our link one last time?
It's been almost a year since this tragic accident struck the life of Juan Carlos and his family and changed their life's.

Today one of the donors share the campaign to her friends, she wrote; "why not all of us 2,000 plus donate again" her idea moved some of the donors and we had some donations, when she wrote that the expenses are accumulating she was right, every day more and more are pilling up, and if you can help us sharing the campaign it would be amazing!
Let's give it another try!
JC has become and inspiration for many because he won't give up, you can see it in his eyes and his attitude every single day!

Good Sunday to everyone!
I can't belive is March already, I neither belive that in just a few days March 12 we count 6 months of Juan Carlos accident, 6 months of knowing each and everyone of you at least a little bit. Knowing that there is good in everyone, and also knowing that some others just don't want to see the good an act of kindness brings to many, and think that when we do take action no because we belive in what we do, but we're are doing it for ourselves.
And you know what they might be right, feels good to do good and for that we all should feel good, and these act of kindness have taken a very good man to a level of hope, and have cheer him up so much that you can tell each one of the 2000 + that have been there for him praying, sending good thoughts and cheering him up have take Juan Carlos back with confidence and trust.
And this is why, even after being pushed down by comments (I reapect) and mails, I will keep trying.
This is why I today ask you all to re-take the fund and share it again on FB, by mail, tweeting, and help us reach a quarter of our goal for March 12. "6 months of fund"
Please keep sharing, I know you have done very much already and I hope you can keep doing it.
August 12th, 2014 began as an ordinary Tuesday for Juan Carlos. He kissed his wife Emma, his little girl Daniela, and his son Eduardo goodbye as he left for a bike ride. An ordinary bike ride, around Fiesta Island with a group of fellow cyclists. It is a routine that probably sounds familiar to any cyclist: “I’ll see you in a few hours! I love you.”
What Emma, Daniela, and Eduardo didn’t know is that the next time they would see Juan Carlos would be at the UCSD Medical Center. On August 12th, on an ordinary Tuesday evening, Juan Carlos was hit by a car in a head-on collision. According to the details of the event as retold by one of the other cyclists, Juan Carlos saw the vehicle approaching and managed to edge another cyclist out of harms way. He was the most wounded cyclist in this accident: two punctured and collapsed lungs, several broken ribs and left clavicle, dislocated left shoulder, loss of one kidney, laceration of the spleen, and six broken vertebrae resulting in a spinal cord injury, this means paralysis from the chest down. The road ahead looks long and difficult, but Juan Carlos is fighting for his life every second in this hospital bed.
Please help us JC's friends, to reach our goal to support the family in this difficult time and what lies ahead.
We promise to keep you updated on his condition and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for any donation you choose to contribute,
“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
Juan Carlos’s friends
This is my worst nightmare! He said today.
I would love to tell you that you'll be ok I said, but that is up to you and the effort you put on your way to recovery, but we all know it's going to be difficult because the body and the brain can play tricks on you and is not ok for your menthal Health.
His mayor concern, not having money to support his family!
Please keep sharing this link and help us reach our goal!
