The left arm is still very painful mostly after therapy the thorn muscles won't let him move his arm as much as he wants to be able to manipulate his body the way he wants but this won't stop him to keep tying, I have to tell that you Juan Carlos amazed me every time I talk to you. You are pushing us to run and run even more.
Well going back to JC, he is getting ready to soon go home and Emma is gettin home ready, it's not being easy and the pressure and the emotions are starting to emerge. There is no need for an update today, an image can say more than thousand words!
After his first day on rehabilitation Juan Carlos got a visit that up lifted his spirit! Pat Murray we all thank you for your support!
Here is for you all!
Two updates in one, on Saturday morning JC got his tracheotomy off, and he started feelling better, he pass the swallowing test, and was aloud to eat what he wanted, yes you read it right! He his having Solid food since yesterday he had a hamburger from the hospital and then noodles from PF Changs.
Today he had to pass some series of tests to se if he could start with rehabilitation and guess what? He did pass the test so he was moved from Sharp memorial, to another building also Sharp but only for rehabilitation so he will be soon starting this hard process but we know he will pass this one too!
You have been with him for more than a month, and he and his family are so grateful, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and do not forget to keep sharing the link.
This process will be not only physically difficult but expensive, help us reach our goal.
THANK YOU! Have a good night!
A good day today! JC has no more tracheotomy, he sat in his room at Sharp Hospital and pass the test to swallow he did great!
He is now allowed to start with more solid foods he just have to go slow! It's been a long way, now the time has come to focus on getting stronger every day.
Way to go Juan Carlos!
Thanks every one who has asked about this condition and are always supporting and praying Emma, Juan Carlos, Danielita and Eduardo.
First I want to thank you all, for yesterday's' participation and donations.
And here is the update, the first night at Sharp hospital was difficult, neither Juan Carlos nor Emma were able to sleep very much! And it is understandable, after being in another hospital for a month, they were not sure what was coming on.
I hope tonight they will have a good night sleep.
Please keep him and his family on your prayers, and share our link.
To all of you our new friends, to family and friends, thank you again.
One month has pass and Juan Carlos is here with us, recovering one step at a time.
Please keep sharing and following our link and help us reach our goal!
And let's try tonight at 6:30 pm to log in and donate $1.00 so we can make it viral and grow! It will be greatly appreciate it!
Have an amazing Friday.
JC was transferred today to Sharp Memorial. We are overwhelmed with the kindness and expertise that all the staff at UCSD Hillcrest showed to us. With God guiding them they saved JC's life.
We stayed there for 30 days and even though there were ups and downs now we can say he is stable enough to be transferred.
We are now at Sharp Memorial in the progressive care unit and we know they are going to take good care of him.
This is tonights update! Juan Carlos might be transfered tomorrow to Sharp Memorial and out of ICU, great News! He hopes that the food will be better and more than at UCSD Hilcrest.
One big step for him, still with a little oxigen help but not more dialysis.
The next step will be to be transfered to a rehabilitation center, I will let ou know when this will happens.
All have been good news this past 8 days, so tonight I will like to remind you all, to please continue sharing our link every day, and tell your friends and family JC and his family have a long road ahead.
Is amazing what click can do.
What about setting up your alarms on September 12, at 6:30 pm exactly one month from the moment that changed a family life, and donate just $1.00 at the same time, this will help to make our link viral and we can reach more people that would like to donate.
And this night Emma's update on her own words.
Creatinine went down to 1.94 this is awesome, so not dialysis today!! And ... That's not it he pass the swallowing test, he can EAT soft food like smashed potatoes, pudding and smoothie, just waiting for the doctors orders and he will have food on his mouth!
And I say...How amazing is to celebrate the simple gifts of life!
La creatinina bajo a 1.94 q es buenisimo. So no dialysis today!!
Y,...... Paso el test de tragar. Puede empezar a comer cosas como pure de papa, pudding, y liquido tambien Pero un poco espeso.
Nada mas que el doctor de la orden y empieza
And today, only good news!
Actually this week has been amazing!
First, 4 day in a row without dialysis! Kidney is working!!!! Yehiiiiiii
Second, yesterday for the day and night Juan Carlos was out of the ventilator and talking he had sprite and was really happy.

Today my husband and I spent more than an our talking with JC, we talked he wrote ( he only gets to exercise his talking thre times a day for some minutes at at time) he wants so bad to get better, even when he says this is his worst nightmare.
We did not have the words to comfort him and I knew we needed a plan. He will be doing his part while my husband and I do ours.
I'm saying this because I believe you all deserve to know not only how is he doing physically but mentally, he is so worried about how to support his family so please keep on sharing this link with your friends and everyone you know.

Thank you all for your love!
There is no way to thank all an each one of you!
We have no words to express our gratitude!
Today I'm going to bed happy and hopeful! After this first 2 hours, we have had a good response lets go for our goal! I will pass on all your comments to Juan Carlos tomorrow and I know he will be moved and motivated ! God bless you all.
August 12th, 2014 began as an ordinary Tuesday for Juan Carlos. He kissed his wife Emma, his little girl Daniela, and his son Eduardo goodbye as he left for a bike ride. An ordinary bike ride, around Fiesta Island with a group of fellow cyclists. It is a routine that probably sounds familiar to any cyclist: “I’ll see you in a few hours! I love you.”
What Emma, Daniela, and Eduardo didn’t know is that the next time they would see Juan Carlos would be at the UCSD Medical Center. On August 12th, on an ordinary Tuesday evening, Juan Carlos was hit by a car in a head-on collision. According to the details of the event as retold by one of the other cyclists, Juan Carlos saw the vehicle approaching and managed to edge another cyclist out of harms way. He was the most wounded cyclist in this accident: two punctured and collapsed lungs, several broken ribs and left clavicle, dislocated left shoulder, loss of one kidney, laceration of the spleen, and six broken vertebrae resulting in a spinal cord injury, this means paralysis from the chest down. The road ahead looks long and difficult, but Juan Carlos is fighting for his life every second in this hospital bed.
Please help us JC's friends, to reach our goal to support the family in this difficult time and what lies ahead.
The link to donate is: http://www.gofundme.com/d1nuf8
We promise to keep you updated on his condition and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for any donation you choose to contribute,
“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
Juan Carlos’s friends
This is my worst nightmare! He said today.
I would love to tell you that you'll be ok I said, but that is up to you and the effort you put on your way to recovery, but we all know it's going to be difficult because the body and the brain can play tricks on you and is not ok for your menthal Health.
His mayor concern, not having money to support his family!
Please keep sharing this link and help us reach our goal!
