Amigos de Juan Carlos Viñolo

August 12th, 2014 began as an ordinary Tuesday for Juan Carlos. He kissed his wife Emma, his little girl Daniela, and his son Eduardo goodbye as he left for a bike ride. An ordinary bike ride, around Fiesta Island with a group of fellow cyclists. It is a routine that probably sounds familiar to any cyclist: “I’ll see you in a few hours! I love you.”

What Emma, Daniela, and Eduardo didn’t know is that the next time they would see Juan Carlos would be at the UCSD Medical Center. On August 12th, on an ordinary Tuesday evening, Juan Carlos was hit by a car in a head-on collision. According to the details of the event as retold by one of the other cyclists, Juan Carlos saw the vehicle approaching and managed to edge another cyclist out of harms way. He was the most wounded cyclist in this accident: two punctured and collapsed lungs, several broken ribs and left clavicle, dislocated left shoulder, loss of one kidney, laceration of the spleen, and six broken vertebrae resulting in a spinal cord injury, this means paralysis from the chest down. The road ahead looks long and difficult, but Juan Carlos is fighting for his life every second in this hospital bed.

Please help us JC's friends, to reach our goal to support the family in this difficult time and what lies ahead.

Juan Carlos’s  friends

This is my worst nightmare! He said today.

I would love to tell you that you'll be ok I said, but that is up to you and the effort you put on your way to recovery, but we all know it's going to be difficult because the body and the brain can play tricks on you and is not ok for your menthal Health.
His mayor concern, not having money to support his family!
Please keep sharing this link and help us reach our goal!
