Mountain Climb for Hope

Donation protected
Those of you who know my life has been, just a bit of a "mountain climb", will not be surprised that my trip of a lifetime must include a personal challenge and a Humanitarian component.
I will be trekking this amazing free standing mountain, the largest in the world in February and am asking my friends and family to support my efforts by pledging whatever funds you can spare.
I will have a Go Fund Me page to raise money for an orphange school called the Tegemeza Project in Nairobi, that dear clients of mine from Kelowna have been personally involved in for the past few years.
The school educates orphans/children of HIV victims that live in complete poverty in the hopes of creating a better life.
For many years I was and continue to be a strong supporter of our Canadian Shelter Foundation.
To me this is an international extention of my social conscious, I personally know the people involved and it is a great honour to be able to do something significant to change a life.
I hope you will be able to forgo a couple of lattes, send what you can to support my Mountain Climb for Hope. I'm excited, training hard, committed and honoured to be in a position to follow my dream of Africa.
Helping children as I go up this incredible mountain "one step at a time" is the perfect way to do life!
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
Challenges the school faces:
Lack of nutrition (food) and drugs for patients suffering from TB or HIV/AIDS.
Lack of transport for effective community mobilization for example taking patients to hospitals or providing needy cares.
Insufficient financial or material resources for Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material acquisition.
Volunteerism that slows down effective work in the community.
Some Volunteers trained (on job training) run to other organizations with incentives with or without notice.
High expectations from members of the community
Social and economic problems of the society in general.
Stigma and discrimination against the people suffering from HIV/AIDS and TB.
Currently the main problem is lack of funds to keep the centre and their programs going.   There are kids who are on the street and their are kids who go for days without food.  Some needs are urgent, immediate and basic.  Others focus on the long term solutions.
