Create Change In Cambodia

My name is Matthew King, and I am The Social Alchemist.

I've made it my life's mission to seek-out areas in dire need and find sustainable solutions that are achievable.

For my next mission, I've chosen Cambodia. I spent 2 months with a local organization getting to know the history and current issues they face. Now I'm ready to break ground alongside them.

Together we're going to renovate a building, (that's already been acquired) into a family development center and daycare.

We believe focusing on this project to start would have the most impact. When single mothers have a baby, they have to stay home to take care of the child, which means they can't go out to earn a living and provide for them. Eventually, the mothers won't be able to afford sending the child to school, so when the child is old enough, they become the primary income provider for the household, getting involved in unsafe child-labour options.

By opening this family development center we can provide daycare, resources, and programs to young mothers. It will give them a fighting chance to finish school, or learn a trade to provide a better life for their family.

Never having to force their child into child-labour. Or feel the pain of not being able to provide for their family or themself.

When we reach our goal, we'll be able to renovate the main hall of the family center, the daycare, and food-bank. We will also have enough to hire two full-time staff to run the facility.
