INTRODUCTION
EARTHCARE Permaculture foundation Ghana

(EarthCare Permaculture Foundation Ghana) is a community
group that is ready to assist the youths in our communities to obtain knowledge concerning
permaculture/agriculture and other related skills to enrich their lives. Most youths rely on the
government for employment without initiating anything towards becoming independent and self-
sustained. Our group consist of young people and entrepreneurs with the passion for farming, we
seek to make agriculture and permaculture very attractive and lucrative as a way to train and to create
jobs for the women and youths in our local communities to better their lives and also live sustainably.
Permaculture is a specifically designed system that is world sustainable wherever humankind
lives, and in harmony with nature. Permaculture systems are designed which utilities using the
available natural resources most favorable on any site and is relevant in all types of climate.

Poverty is the greatest challenge most people face in our community and Volta Region at large and about Seventy
percent (70%) of the people here are living below the poverty line. Many youths
are unemployed; women suffering and struggling to care for their children, and are fast losing
hope of getting out of the grips of poverty.

This situation is very critical and needs urgent assistance in the form of capacity building and
creating/training the youths and women to be sufficient/self-employed.
Poverty
also drives people in the communities to use chemicals that destroy systems as they lack
the access and means to other knowledge concerning the proper care of the land in their
environment. The three ethnics of permaculture says we must care for the earth, care for people and share our resources
With EARTHCARE Permaculture Foundation Ghana we will give training in all aspects of
permaculture principles and its related courses.

The founder,
INNOCENT KELVIN COFFIE is
the managing director of the organization, Earthcare Permaculture foundation Ghana is a non-profit
organization that uses permaculture ethics and principles to promote community development.
Mr. INNOCENT helps communities throughout Adzokoe-Peki in the Volta region and it’s
environs organizing tree planting, vegetable garden for schools and donating trees to schools for
plant sustainability. It is said that when the last tree dies the last man dies, so we are encouraging
more tree planting in the communities.
Innocent travelled to Upper West region in a community called LONGBORIZU to establish a
school garden and train the women and school children on maintaining the garden.

Our goal is for students attending our basic schools in various Volta communities will also
establish a sustainable organic garden. Through this project Mr. INNOCENT and his team will
teach and train students how to grow their own food, build water harvesting systems and build
fencing to protect their crops from being destroyed by animals. While the majority of the
produce from the school garden will be used to feed the school children, a small amount of
surplus will be sold to provide financial support for students hoping and willing to pursue higher
education.

OUR VISIONS AND AIMS
We are an undivided whole of this earth; healing mother earth and feeding our people is our
concern and our responsibility to the community. Our goal is to continue expanding the positive
actions of earth restoration and care for the people of our communities. Our aim is to afford land

sufficient, self-employed citizens in our various communities and the country at large.
