Dear friends and family,
As many of you know, we are currently on a journey to adopt a baby!
Adoption has always been on our hearts, but it was something we thought we might pursue after having biological children. As time went on and no biological children came, we started working with a fertility specialist to see what the problem was. To make a long story short, our doctors confirmed last year that we have very little chance to have biological children without significant medical intervention.
As we grieved, processed, and prayed through our options, we both started to feel peace that domestic infant adoption was the right path for our family. We see adoption as a tangible reminder that God can bring redemption and restoration to even the most broken and difficult situations, and we are extremely humbled to be part of that process.
Although we are excited to add to our family in this way, we are also faced with the sad reality that adoption is costly. Between the home study, consulting fees, medical expenses, agency fees, legal fees, and other anticipated miscellaneous costs - our adoption is estimated to be around $29,000, plus travel expenses. We have been budgeting and saving, but the reality is that we won’t be able to cover that amount by ourselves.
So we are here asking you, our dear friends and family, for help. This is a scary thing to do, but our fear is surpassed by the sense of peace and hope we feel about expanding our family through adoption.
Thank you to all of those who have cried and prayed with us over the past year, and for all the many, many ways you continue to support us in our journey. We are so thankful to have such an incredible community of people to help us raise this little human.
