‘I SUPPORT K-9’ is a fundraising set up to help our K-9 officers and local police. They are risking their lives everyday to protect us and keep the community feel safe and united. Our goal is to raise $12,000 , and deliver them to Cobb County Police Department K-9 Unit by 2017 Christmas.

Q1: Where will the donation go?
A1: All donations will go to the Georgia Cobb County Police Department K-9 Unit. Any monies donated to the K9 Fund go directly towards either the purchase of a working dog or any needed K9 specific equipment, such as K9 bullet proof vests, first aid kits, etc.
Q2: Why are K-9 officers important for our community?
A2: A police dog, known in US as a “K-9” or “K9” (a homophone of “canine”), is a dog that is specifically trained to assist police and other law-enforcement personnel. Their duties include: searching for drugs and explosives, locating missing people, finding crime scene evidence, and protecting police officers.
As we have seen increasing public safety issue and campus drug problem, K-9 officers are the best helper of police to build a peaceful community.
Q3: How much does it cost to raise one K-9 officer?
A3: The approximate cost for one trained police dog is $14,000. We are raising $12,000 in the ‘I SUPPORT K-9’ fundraising. Currently more than $5,000 has been donated from lovely individuals/families.
