In the heart of the Amazon, 800 Huni Kuin people in the eight villages of the Caucho community face a daily struggle – a lack of access to clean water. In two villages, the situation is dire – there's no clean water available at all. For another village, a mere one hour a day is all they have.
Having clean water to drink is the most basic need for human health yet today more than 30% of the world's population still lacks this vital resource. Water is not only essential for life but also a fundamental human right.
The situation is urgent. The water available to the Huni Kawa community is contaminated with bacteria, algae, and parasites. Moreover, this compromised water is used for multiple purposes – from drinking and cooking to washing clothes and bathing.
Together we can change this. We're on a mission to travel there in the first or second week of December, and we are grateful for your support. With your donation, we can install purification systems that will provide a lifeline of clean water. While many have expressed their intention to help, the journey to the jungle is indeed long and demanding. Yet, our commitment remains unwavering. We've witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact of clean water. We're resolute in our determination to make this journey, ensuring a healthier and brighter future for the Huni Kawa community.

Indigenous People make up less than 5% of the world’s population, yet hold more than 80% of the entire world’s biodiversity on their lands. The Huni Kawa people live in the North-East part of Brazil. They are one of the many tribes in the region whose living conditions are severely affected by the impact of modern civilization.
