Chuy Goes to DC with ADAPT
Donation protected
Jesus Chuy Campuzano is a longtime activist in Chicago. If there is direct action around an issue impacting his community, friends and loved ones, you can always bet on him being there with his bullhorn, chants and energy.
Recently, Chuy joined members of ADAPT on a trip to Ohio where he hoped to join others from around the country in convincing Senator Portman to say no to proposed Medicaid cuts; not only did the Senator not even meet with Chuy and ADAPT but they used police force to violently remove Chuy and others, including people in wheelchairs.
After bearing witness to the power of ADAPT, Chuy now wants to go to Washington DC in September as part of ADAPT's National Action held twice a year. While Chuy only needs $400, he set a goal of $5000 so he could support other people who want to go but cannot afford it. The money you give will support people with all kinds of disabilities to purchase plane or Amtrak tickets for themselves and their personal attendants (where necessary), food during their week-long stay, and the subsidy for the hotel bill (which is $1000 per room for the week).
Chuy needs to confirm he and his friends can go by August 19. Anything you can give will help not only Chuy but other folks who depend on Medicaid and Social Security Insurance for their livelihood. Chuy's voice is powerful; help it be heard loud and proud as he and others from around the country converge on DC in September to defend not only their freedom, but the freedom of every American.

Thank you in advance for your support.
PS - Chuy says his birthday is September 27; he will also have a fundraiser, so instead of keeping any gifts, he is giving everything to ADAPT.
