Legal fees to sue the man who hurt my child
Donation protected
My name is Clint Dunn. I am the father of two beautiful girls, Hailey and Chloe.
Chloe is 8 years old. Hailey would have been 21 this year if someone hadn't kidnapped and murdered her two days after Christmas in 2010. Chloe never knew her big sister - she was only three months old when Hailey was murdered. Her killer(s) still walk free today, and we continue to seek justice for her.
Now, I am a single father with sole custody of Chloe. In her 8 short years, my Chloe has been through hell, to put it mildly. Her mother is no longer in her life, she has been told things about her sister's death that no child should hear, and she lives in constant fear that the man who took her sister will come for her one day. Because of this, I have kept our situation very private, but I now have no choice but to ask for your help.
A few months ago, Chloe was offered the chance to appear in a TV commercial for a local construction company here in west Texas. She was so excited that I couldn't turn it down. For her part in the commercial, Chloe was promised a trip to Sea World here in Texas. It was an opportunity I could never afford to give her, and she really wants to go. So I told her she could do the commercial, and looked forward to taking my daughter on our first trip anywhere together.
The commercial was taped in June of this year and guess what? Chloe-Bear never got her trip. The guy who owns the construction company put my daughter's face on television and the internet (and I believe he did it knowing she looks like her famously dead sister), and cheated my daughter out of the trip she was looking forward to so much.
As a father, I am crushed. As a father who hasn't been able to find consistent work for the past several years, there is no way I can take Chloe on the trip she was promised. I can't even afford the legal fees to take him to court. I have a screenshot from him back in August asking "Do I still want Chloe to get her money"? Um, yeah. I want Chloe to get what she was PROMISED!
For months, this man has been stalling and saying he's going to pay her, but all of the sudden, he wants me to sign a contract that says I'm not telling the truth about this! I'm not only telling the truth, but he's trying to extort me and my little girl after the fact. He even wants Chloe to sign a contract saying he never did any of this. I have to make this right and make sure he doesn't do this to someone else.
Please help me raise the monies necessary to take this guy to court and get what my daughter deserves. That's all I'm asking. I never asked anyone for a single penny in all the years Hailey was missing, and I hate to do so now, but it's time for Daddy to stand up and make this right any way I can. I feel like I failed Hailey in many ways. I will be damned if I fail Chloe, too. If you can find it in your heart to help, Chloe and I would appreciate it more than you ever know. Thank you.
