Barefoot Productions, Inc. is a Hollywood-based production company founded in 1990. Recently we created the short film Letter To Codelco (pro bono) about the plight of a group indigenous people and environmental groups in the high altitude Alto Loa Valley of northern Chile. 

Letter To Codelco was intended to raise awareness about the environmental issues caused by Codelco’s tailings pond Talabre, located 3 miles from the town of Chiu-Chiu.

A tailings pond is an open-air pit used to store the residium left by mining copper, which resembles a deep lake of gray sludge and ashy gunk. Left out and exposed without much treatment, the Talabre pond is revealing itself to be a contaminator for the entire area. 

During our next shooting trip to Atacama, September 4-15, 2017, we will deliver to the Environmental Commission of Chiu-Chiu a Strategic Plan prepared by Brian Olding & Associates. http://www.brianolding.com/
