The Cicero Community Collaborative (CCC) and Partners are responding to the needs of our friends and neighbors by creating the CCC COVID-19 Emergency Relief Effort.  

 The COVID-19 crisis has had an impact on everyone, but it has been most devastating to our neighbors working minimum-wage jobs or who are ineligible for government assistance due to their immigration status. Those needing help include many program participants, community residents and volunteers. Because you care deeply about and are invested in your community, The CCC is asking for your help. Please join our efforts in providing funds to families in need.

There are many stories of families in our community that have been deeply impacted by the Stay-at-Home Order, a father that may have worked in a restaurant or factory, sometimes double shifts, a mother that worked in a hotel, factory or as a nanny, a teenager who worked part-time in order to help pay the house bills. All three are now unemployed, are not eligible to receive a federal stimulus check or may be afraid to apply for other assistance because the action may put their eventual citizenship in jeopardy.

The CCC has committed $55,000 and our goal is to raise an additional $30,000.  This will provide direct financial assistance for household expenses such as short- term rental/mortgage and utility to families in need, partnering with local food pantries in order to help increase access to emergency food and supplies as well as partnering with a local restaurant that will help provide meal delivery for seniors and quarantined families.

You can make a huge difference for these families.  We would like to invite you to join our efforts and match this amount. If we reach our goal, at the end of this endeavor, 1,000+ community members will have received assistance they need to help pay for rent, food, bills, and other basic essentials.

La crisis del COVID-19 ha tenido un impacto en todos, pero ha sido de lo más devastador para nuestros vecinos que trabajan en empleos con salario mínimo o que no son elegibles para recibir ayuda gubernamental debido a su estado migratorio. Aquellos que necesitan ayuda incluyen muchos participantes de programas de asistencia comunitaria, residentes de la comunidad y voluntarios. OUR CAMPAIGN
BUILD FUTURE SUCCESS seeks to raise $300,000 to make much-needed repairs to our recently purchased facility located at 6501 Stanley Avenue in Berwyn. To date, more than $213,000 has been secured through community and partner contributions. This support confirms that our neighbors value Youth Crossroads’ work and are committed to being there for our community’s youth. Through this GoFundMe effort, we seek to raise $25,000 towards our overall goal.

WHY IT'S IMPORTANT
The new center will offer long-term stability for the organization, as well as improved access for youth and families seeking services. A wide range of new, creative programs will become available due to large group meeting facilities including parent education workshops, youth entrepreneurial projects, and community organizing activities. Staff and student interns will finally have private offices for confidential conversations with youth and families. Staff will have the technology to effectively manage program data collection and community outreach.

Through community partnerships and the support of generous donors, Youth Crossroads has a profound impact on the community and its youth. During the most recent fiscal year, Youth Crossroads:

• Supported and empowered nearly 1,500 individuals through various programming;

• Delivered more than 54,000 hours of direct service;

• Conducted several local and out-of-state college tours for high school students;

• Provided school-based counseling to over 500 students at Morton High School District 201 and Berwyn School District 98; and

• Ensured a crisis counselor is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide services for run-away and locked-out youth.

OUR MISSION & IMPACT 
Youth Crossroads’ mission is to act in the best interest of youth, guiding them through life’s challenges, and inspiring them to discover new opportunities for personal development, healthy relationships, and positive community involvement. 

Youth Crossroads provides a wide range of supports including counseling, crisis intervention, school/community-based trauma response and prevention programs, after-school enrichment, and youth leadership development. We are now leading and coordinating ground-breaking trauma training to local police departments, educators, and parents to teach them about the impact trauma has on youth. In addition, we collaborate extensively with local school districts, government agencies, police departments, and other human service organizations to connect with youth in need of assistance and ensure they receive appropriate care.

Our staff works with each individual and family to identify their needs and create a path toward improving their situations. To ensure that those who would most benefit can easily partake in programs, all services are bilingual and provided at no-cost to participants.
