Whitetulip Health Foundation (WHF) Global Health Division is launching a new project in Malindi and the Somali border of Kenya, areas where the residents are low-income earners who live a life in extreme poverty and can not afford to pay for their healthcare expenses. WHF Global Health Division and AFYA International Hospital in Kenya will work together to screen thousands of patients in these regions for hernia and cataract problems and will do the surgical operations if needed. The goal is to do approximately 100 operations between March-May 2021.  Each operation will cost ~$200 which will be free of charge to the patients. 

WHF is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that connects healthcare professionals who want to give back to society. Its aim is to create a platform, where they can share ideas and experiences, provide mutual support and collaborate, channel their own personal passions and skills in community projects both locally and abroad. Our mission is to mobilize the caring power of healthcare professionals to advance the health status of the communities we serve.

As a part of our mission, WHF will be supporting patients and providing access to necessary care and treatment they cannot afford and will be collaborating with AFYA International Hospital located in this region offering comprehensive both outpatient and inpatient health services of quality standards by dedicated staff. Whitetulip is excited to announce its latest efforts on removing barriers to healthcare globally in Malindi, Kenya. WHF Global Health Division is launching a new project in Malindi sub-county, Mtangani, an area where the residents are low income earners who live a life in extreme poverty and can not afford to pay for their healthcare expenses.

Whitetulip Health Foundation (WHF) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that connects healthcare professionals who want to give back to society. After a free screening for the locals who live in the nearby villages, those who needed surgical intervention were selected, their names, age, area where they live, and the procedure needed were recorded.

AFYA International Hospital kindly agreed to perform the surgery and necessary care of these 30 patients for a total of $10,000 for which we are launching this fundraising. All pre-surgical laboratory and imaging tests if necessary, surgery, and post-procedural care, including hospital stay and administration fees are included in this total amount.

Whitetulip’s Global Health Division is organizing a medical relief trip as part of the Medical Mission: Malindi, Kenya project. Malindi was chosen due to it’s poor health conditions and lack of proper medical care. The trip will take part on February 8th - 16th, 2020. WHF’s team will  consist of 4-5 pediatricians, family and internal medicine physicians alongside with nurses and other volunteers. 

While on site, WHF Global Health team will be providing acute medical attention and health to more than 2000 children and adults in the orphanages and underserved areas. Our main focus areas will be malnutrition, malaria, tuberculosis and respiratory diseases. We will also be providing nutritional and hygienic education to children and adults. These will be an invaluable benefit to them and the community they live in.
