On the 1st january 2026 my son hunter lindsay was born at 25 weeks and 2 days. weighing just 830grams, he had a total stay of 117 days in the nicu at newcastle rvi he will be one next year and for his first birthday corrected age of 1 im going to drive 1000 miles to fuengirola/benalmandena in spain. me my wife hunter and our little dog to take him on holiday and drive 1000 miles with him back to raise money for tiny lives.who have supported us through our stay at hospital and also for the passed fee months since we were discharged from the hospital.This is not funding for a holiday for us. We are taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge in memory of Theo Williams who was born along with his twin Rory at 30+6 weeks. Along with being premature both boys also had heart conditions. Unfortunately, Theo’s options were taken from him and he passed peacefully on 4th September 2025. During the hardest time of our lives Tiny Lives were there for us creating keepsake memories, offering support and providing memories for Theo’s twin Rory so he will always have something to remember his brother by including, a book to explain where Theo is now. Tiny Lives have also supported Rory since his discharge in October through funding of baby classes including, swimming, sensory and yoga classes. This not only is important for Rory but for us as parents to talk to other parents who have been in NICU and who have similar experiences. We don’t know what we would have done without Tiny Lives this last year and we are incredibly thankful for all they have done. This is an amazing cause and we would appreciate people donating for the lads doing this challenge if they can so Tiny Lives can continue their work and help other families. I will be running the great north run in aid of tiny life’s trust , a charity that support and champion premature and sick newborn babies and their families, at the Newcastle neonatal Service in the RVI and across the North East after having a family member who was premature this foundation helped a lot while they were in hospital they were 13 weeks early and only weighed 1 pound 4 chances of survival were slim but this foundation helped a lot in to making them who they are today if yous could spare some money to this is amazing charity to do so would be a massive help.

Our Tiny Miracles — Oliver & Cooper

On 6th February 2026, our lives changed forever when our beautiful twin boys, Oliver and Cooper, came into the world 9 weeks early.

Instead of bringing our babies home and beginning the journey we had imagined, we found ourselves facing a world of incubators, monitors, tubes and uncertainty. Our tiny boys were so small and fragile, but every day they showed us just how strong they could be.

Those days in neonatal care were some of the hardest and most frightening moments of our lives. But amongst all the worry, there was also so much kindness, support and hope.

The Tiny Lives Trust became a huge part of our journey. Their support helped us through a time when we felt overwhelmed and scared, and reminded us that we weren’t alone. They do so much for premature and sick babies and their families, helping make an incredibly difficult time just a little bit easier.

Now, months later, we’re watching our little boys grow, smile, learn and become the cheeky little characters they were always meant to be.

And their big sister Harper wants to do something very special for her brothers.

Harper is taking part in the Great North Mini Run in honour of Oliver and Cooper, and to raise money for The Tiny Lives Trust. ‍♀️

At just three years old, she is running for the two little brothers she loves so much and for the charity that supported our family when they were at their tiniest and most vulnerable.

Every step Harper takes will be for Oliver and Cooper, for every premature baby fighting their way home, and for every family sitting beside a neonatal cot hoping and praying for better days.

We couldn’t be prouder of our brave little girl. ❤️

Orla is taking part in the toddler GNR to raise money for Tiny Lives.

Seven years ago, our lives changed forever when our beautiful daughter Charlotte arrived at just 23 weeks.

She was incredibly tiny, and from the moment she was born, she faced a fight that no baby should ever have to face. Those first weeks and months were filled with fear, uncertainty and some of the hardest moments we have ever experienced.

But she fought.

Through the incredible care, dedication and compassion of the neonatal team, our tiny girl grew stronger. Today, she is 7 years old, and seeing the amazing little girl she has become is something we will never take for granted. ❤️

We will always be incredibly grateful to the people who cared for her when she was at her most vulnerable.

That is why we want to give something back.

This year, Charlotte is taking on the Mini Great North Run to raise money for Tiny Lives, helping support premature and sick babies and their families, and helping provide the care, equipment and support that can make such an enormous difference during those frightening first days and weeks.

We know first-hand what it feels like to sit beside an incubator, hoping and praying that your tiny baby will make it through.

Our daughter was given a chance.

Now we’d love to help give other tiny babies and their families that same hope.

Neonatal Unit Fundraising Walk: Supporting Memory Making at the RVI

We are a dedicated group of neonatal nurses raising funds to support Memory Making for families on the Neonatal Unit at the RVI.

These funds will help us continue creating lasting, meaningful memories for the families we care for, alongside the Memory Books developed with support from Tiny Lives. Donations will go towards essential items such as:

Meeting Point: The Sundial, Amble Town Centre

Route: Amble → Alnmouth → return (out-and-back walk)

Everyone is welcome! Family & friends, children and dogs

This is an informal, relaxed walk you can join at any point — take it at your own pace and enjoy the beautiful coastline. Public transport links are available between Amble and Alnmouth for flexibility.

I lost my daughter Sienna in July in the RVI and tiny loves charity supported us during and after along with her twin sister so as a thank you we’d love to raise money to give back to them in Sienna-chrissys name to make sure we keep her memory going and alive for everyone around us but especially her two big sisters and her twin

Last year, a group from our nursing team climbed Helvellyn to raise money for Tiny Lives. This year, we're taking on a new challenge the Old Man of Coniston to continue supporting this incredible charity.

Tiny Lives is very close to our hearts. We see the amazing impact of their work every day as we care for the babies and families on our unit. The charity provides vital psychological support, parental groups, baby classes and weekly coffee mornings on the unit. They also help parents bond with their little ones through thoughtful touches like story books, Mini Boos and memory making keepsakes. That is just a small part of the wonderful things they do to support families through such a difficult and emotional time.

This hike is dedicated to all the babies to all the babies and families we've had the privilege to care for. As well as in loving memory of all the little angels who never made it home.

On the 24th August 2021 Our beautiful twins Sylvie and Wynn were born 10 weeks early at 30 weeks. Sylvie, although very small and precious headed off to a great start. Wynn however at only 4 days old contracted a life threatening infection called NECK. Without a moment to think he was whisked away In a huge incubater and travelled what seemed at the time the longest journey from Sunderland Royal to the RVI. From the moment he got there I knew he was in the best hands of care, immediately we were given great support from the team whether it was not having to think about paying to park or knowing there was a sandwich and a drink in the family room for when you were just feeling exhausted but didn't want to leave your baby to grab food. As many parents of NICU babies know the moments you can stay at your babies bedside are very very precious. During Covid siblings were simply not aloud to be in the neo natal, our eldest Son at home was sent photos, notes, footprints, stories of being a big brother to a premature baby. It was a long 7 weeks but Tiny Lives helped fill in the huge gap within our family with little kind gestures. Despite how busy they were doing an amazing job looking after our brave boy. Not only did they include our Son at home but they also found ways to connect our 3 children aswell as our sweet Sylvie Rose who was separated from her twin brother for weeks. We can't begin to put into words what an awful time this was for us, as this was not just words it was real and it was our life at that time. Without Tiny Lives I don't think we would have swam like we did, we would have sunk. Thank you so much.

I will be cycling the coast to coast in 1 day on the 10/09/2022 followed by running the Great North run on 11/09/2022 to raise funds for this great charity.
