Hi everyone, my name is Kimber Williams and I am participating in a 30-day hard fitness challenge.

I am excited to dedicate my challenge to breast cancer awareness for the month of October. I am asking for support to raise funds for the Rose organization in Houston, Texas, which is an organization that provides mammograms to those in the community in need.

DECODE DETECT: Breast Cancer Awareness 2022
From day one it’s been a DECODE mission to support breast cancer patients and survivors, showing them that they don’t have to take that first step — or any step after — by themselves. You can say, “it takes a village” and “no person is an island,” and you’d be right. But saying isn’t enough when doing is an option. So we’re doing.

We’re partnering with The Rose and raising funds to help them provide mammograms and lifesaving services to those who are uninsured.

And we’re talking detection, but we’re also talking about what the breast cancer journey looks like for each individual. Things like finding your social support networks, specific care for trans individuals, and how you don’t need to be a doctor to help someone close to you go through treatment.

Because we don’t just stand by somebody — we stand by everybody. After all, we’re in this together.

Cake & Lipstick for Breast Cancer Awareness
Because of the devastating toll Breast Cancer takes on so many families, Katherine Mason of Painted With Lipstick and Tessa Hernandez of CakeDarling have paired up to raise money to benefit The Rose , an organization committed to providing access to screening, diagnostics and treatment services to any woman regardless of her ability to pay.

ENTER TO WIN an original print from Katherine's lipstick series, and one of Tessa's 4inch funfetti cakes, inspired by Katherine's work--A combined value over $150!

The Rose has been committed to eliminating breast health care inequities for Southeast Texas women since its founding in 1986. The organization was founded by two pioneering women determined to provide comprehensive, quality breast care for all women regardless of their ability to pay. The mission-driven plan was to create a nonprofit organization utilizing reimbursements from insurance fees to cover the cost of operations and donations and grants to cover the cost to care for the uninsured. The Rose is the only nationally recognized nonprofit breast health organization in Texas that simultaneously serves the insured and the uninsured through a preventive, culturally sensitive, family-centered, and community-based approach.
