70 miles for Archie-Beau’s cleft palate journey
Archie’s story began in a way none of us expected. He was born with a cleft palate something we hadn’t prepared for, something we didn’t yet understand. From his very first days, life looked different for him. While other babies fed naturally, Archie needed a feeding tube, and as a family, we had to be trained just to give him the nourishment he needed to grow.
Those early days were overwhelming, but Archie was so brave throughout it all.
As he grew, so did the obstacles. Because of the opening in the roof of his mouth, something as simple as eating became difficult, food would often come out through his nose. Speaking, something most of us take for granted, became another hurdle. To help him, Archie has already undergone 3 operations/surgeries to repair his palate and improve his speech each one bringing hope, but also pain, recovery, and resilience.
If you’ve never met Archie before, you would never know what he has been through. You wouldn’t see the hospital stairs, the procedures, the set backs all you would see is the happiest, content little boy you would ever meet!
We’re sharing Archie’s story not just to raise awareness, but to ask for your help. Every donation, no matter how small, will go towards the care and support the cleft palate association can provide to children and families like ours.
This remains very close to us as a family and we are all so proud of Archie throughout this clef palate journey
