- The Korchin Family is fundraisingI am excited to announce that I will be pitching an inning at the annual Old Time Baseball Game on August 22, 2024, @ St. Peter’s field in Arlington, MA.
This event is a celebration of baseball in its original form, flannel uniforms and small fields, and played at a local field surrounded by fans in lawn chairs down the left and right field lines. Every year the game is played on behalf of a local charity. This year’s game will be fundraising for “The Boston Home”, a non-profit residence and resource center for adults with advanced neurological disorders, primarily multiple sclerosis, based in Dorchester.
Former Red Sox star’s Jonathan Papelbon and Lou Merloni will also be playing in this years game. Lou will be the recipient of the Greg Montalbano Award, an award presented annually to a former player who exemplifies Greg’s spirit, competitiveness and good nature. This is extra special to me since my dad, who played a number of times in this game, was the 1st recipient of this award (He and Greg played together from 1997-2000 at Northeastern University). He may even make an appearance in the game…maybe while I am pitching.
