The Arc of Iowa is leading the fight for equality and inclusion, empowering people to live the lives they want, and inspiring a movement of advocates. As a grassroots nonprofit agency established in 1953, we have worked together for generations to build an accepting world with the supports necessary for our children, family or friends who have been affected by disabilities.
Our work is not done.
Congress is moving fast to cut Medicaid and SNAP. We need to move faster.
You feel it too …don’t you? The House has already passed $800 billion from Medicaid and $300 billion (with a B) from SNAP.
We need your contributions to continue fighting for millions who will lose care. Go hungry. Land in crisis. We cannot let that happen.
Your funds will organize rallies, flood inboxes and social media, and bring people with disabilities face-to-face with lawmakers to show exactly what’s at stake.
There are many in this fight, but The Arc of Iowa brings something no one else can. We’ve been at this for 75 years, and Iowans like Julie Beckett who helped set up Medicaid Waivers and Nancy and Charlie Curtis who just testified in Washington to preserve Medicaid, have fought and continue to fight for families just like yours. And lawmakers from both parties turn to us because we are a trusted ally and advocate. Disability rights aren’t political. They’re human.
