Support Isaac's Bike Journey for Gaming Inclusion
My name is Isaac Schmidt. I have loved playing soccer and video games, as well as bike riding from a young age. I have always done these things with my dad. My goal and the reason for this GoFundMe page is to raise awareness and money for AbleGamers while my dad and I challenge ourselves on a 1000 mile bike ride starting July 19th, 2024.
This idea came to me when my dad said "Do you want to do something this summer." I thought to myself why don't we bike from Seattle, Washington to San Francisco, California to see my cousins. I have flown and driven to California on a number of occasions. However, I wanted to include my interest in biking. Biking to California will be a fun and interesting experience and it allows me to explore and learn more about this part of the country. On top of the physical challenge, this seemed like a great chance to raise money for a good cause. I started looking at some non profit organizations and I came across AbleGamers. I have a strong connection to gaming and I think everybody should be able to play video games even if they have a disability. For example, if someone has no hands, that person can't hold a controller, which makes it difficult or impossible to participate in gaming and the gaming community. At Ablegamers they find a solution to help make a custom device related to their disability that allows them to be able to play video games. This not only allows them to enjoy video games, but it also allows them access to the social support and interactions within the gaming community. So my goal is to raise $1000 to donate to Ableganers, $1 for each mile of bike riding. Your donations will be directly given to Ablegamers as soon as you donate it.
