September is a month dedicated to suicide prevention. There are staggering numbers of veterans dealing with PTSD that are in need of mental health support. In the current environment of isolation, it's difficult to be there for those around us suffering from suicidal thoughts. I'm hoping to draw awareness to this issue as well as raise funds to support Team Red, White & Blue, and any donation will help make an impact.

Starting with 3 miles on September 1st, I will be rucking an additional 1/2 mile each day with a 25# vest & 25# pack, finishing with 17.5 miles on September 30th totaling 310.5 miles. I'll also be rucking 11 miles on 9/11 for our civilian service members. The weight I'll be carrying signifies the full gear our servicemen and women wear as well as the emotional weight they may carry on their shoulders that as a citizen I cannot begin to imagine. Team CKO Kickboxing across the nation is fundraising for our brothers and sisters at Team Red, White and Blue, in memory of Dan Manrique.  Dan was a Marine Corp. Veteran who was tragically killed in the Borderline Bar Shooting on November 7th in Thousand Oaks.   Dan served as chapter captain of Team RWB's Ventura County Chapter, who's mission is to enrich the lives of America's veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.

As a team we will continue to connect with Veterans in our community in Dan's memory.  A Punch-a-thon Fundraiser will be hosted at your local CKO Kickboxing gym along with their local RWB Chapters on December 1.  For more info, reach out to your local CKO, or you can donate here.

Team Red, White & Blue is a national non-profit that connects veterans into the community via fitness and social activies.
