Hi everyone,

We were so, so saddened to hear of the loss of Hannah Colton. As you all know, Hannah was a truly special individual. Her vibrant personally lit up any room she walked into, and she dedicated her career to lifting up others.

To honor her memory, we would like to make a group gift from Washington High School alumni. The donation will be delivered directly to Street Safe New Mexico , an organization that Hannah supported.

Thank you so much for your contribution to help celebrate the life of Hannah and continue to support her mission of lifting up those who need it.

Hannah's family will be planning a Celebration of Life service  for Hannah sometime during the Spring, Summer, or Fall 2021, and will make the details and location known on the Memorial for Hannah site as well as via notices in the newspaper and on Facebook.

For female sex trafficking survivors living on the street in Albuquerque, NM, there are few places to find help.

But on September 1, 2018, Street Safe New Mexico  intends to change this by opening The Salon — a place where the women can find hope as well as help.

When you donate to The Salon , you can sponsor a piece of the needed renovation when we convert a 1950s beauty parlor into a women's center.

To sponsor a piece, simply pick an item from the list below and indicate your choice when you make your donation. When we install the item — be it a light fixture, ceiling tile or a toilet-paper dispenser — we will add your name to our list of founding donors.

* 92% are women of color (56% Hispanic or Latina; 32% Native; 4% African-American)
* 90% of women selling sex on the street are sex trafficking survivors
* 82% read at 7th grade level or below
* 75% were raped in the past year
* 22% were forced to sell sex at age 14 or younger
