We're climbing Haleakala! Well, from inside our apartments.

On February 28th, Colby, Zack, and Rachel will be simulating, Peloton instructor, Christine D'Ercole's 10,000 foot climb up Haleakala (the East Maui Volcano in Hawaii). The ride is simulated through five 60 minute classes with lots of good music, coaching and encouragement from Christine herself. 

We are fundraising for Star Track Cycling program, a 501(c)3 organization, that brings sport to NYC's under-resourced youth. 

The three of us were fortunate enough to grow up with sports that taught us valuable skills such as leadership and goal-setting, build our confidence from a young age, and set us up for a healthier and successful future.

Like most of you, we're very passionate about the ongoing movement towards equality, and understand that all that took place in 2020 is just the beginning. Empowering these kids with resources, such as movement, community and structure, plus surrounding them with incredible role models, gives them the tools to create a brighter future than they may have otherwise had.

More information about Star Track Cycling Inc: Star Track is an after school cycling program with the goal of empowering New York City children ages 8-14 from under-resourced communities by building self-confidence, strength, goal-setting and teamwork skills through the exciting sport of track racing. Star Track's mission is to reach children with a physical activity that engages them. In this way, we can address the health and emotional issues facing under-active children of today.

Star Track is one of largest youth cycling clubs in the country and the 2019 USA Club Junior Cub of the Year. Our mission is to bring the sport of track cycling to New York City’s underserved youth by offering them a 100% no cost program: each child gets a bike to ride, a helmet to wear, their own Star Track cycling kit and free classes and instruction throughout the year. Cycling is an expensive sport. Our program eliminates the barriers that keep so many children from discovering it.
Due to the pandemic, our fundraising is down significantly. Most notably, we are unable to hold our annual in-person gala which we depend on to generate much of our annual operating budget. So for only the second time in our 15-year history, we are launching a GoFundMe campaign. Our goal is to get as many of our 110 students on Zwift this off-season by providing them each a Bluetooth-enabled trainer compatible with the Zwift platform.
We already have 20% of our students Zwifting, but we want to offer it to everyone, so all of the children are able to keep up their training and have physical activity that is so vital to their growth as both a young adult and a cyclist.
