Randi's Social Venture Partners Campaign
Please join me in supporting an amazing nonprofit organization, Social Venture Partners (SVP).
As some of you know, Tim and I have been part of this incredibly impactful organization for almost a decade now. Simply put, SVP is a non-profit that strengthens other non-profits, thereby accelerating community impact. SVP's unique and leveraged approach is truly remarkable!
SVP invests in nonprofits by giving cash grants, providing non-profit leadership training, and contributing our collective time and expertise to help nonprofits get organized and achieve their critical goals. We touch dozens of nonprofits at any given time, including organizations that serve food to the hungry, provide early childhood education, give homes to the homeless and at-risk youth, and allow abused and neglected children to have voice in this world. Some recent investee nonprofits include the YWCA, Community Food Share, Attention Homes, Voices for Children (CASA) and KGNU Community Radio, just to name a few. There are many many more! Tim personally is very involved with SVP's work with KGNU and I've been able to work with Attention Homes and Temple Grandin School (an organization that provides education to children on the autism spectrum). More photos and stories on SVP's work further below.
Since our founding we've donated over $7 million in consulting time and $1.8 million in cash grants to strengthen 170 Boulder County nonprofits. In 2018 alone, we worked with over 100 non-profits.
But we need support to maintain our work! Since I personally have committed to raising funds for SVP this year, I would be beyond grateful if you would consider making a donation (no matter how big or small), most importantly because your donation will allow us to continue to help the most vulnerable in our communities.
And in great news, I just learned last week that the Anchor Point Foundation, a local private foundation that supports nonprofits doing innovative work in the community, has pledged to match up to $25,000 of donations that are made to SVP in August or September! So making a donation now will actually have double the impact!
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about SVP and the work we do or would like to get involved in another way. I'm truly so appreciative that you've read this far and may consider supporting my/our efforts in this way.
My best,
Randi
Oh, and yes, it's tax deductible!
SVP worked with Voices for Children CASA (VFC) over three and half year period, investing 1,008 consulting hours and $46K in cash grants. Together we worked on strategic planning, strengthening their board of directors, improving their presence in the community (helped create a marketing video and work on public relations), a search for their new Executive Director, executive coaching to staff leadership and so much more. As a result of SVP’s partnership with VFC they were better able to achieve their mission of providing trained, court appointed volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children. They were able to increase their income by 14%, triple the number of their CASA volunteers and increase the number of children they serve annually by 1/3. Wow!
We worked with an organization addressing food insecurity, Community Food Share, to complete a re-branding project. Better awareness and understanding of their services led to more clients taking advantage of their services; to businesses donating more healthy food such as fresh produce, meat, and dairy; to skyrocketing interest in open staff positions so they could hire the best and brightest; to an increase in volunteers; and the story goes on. Each of these impacts means there are less children in our community who will go hungry tonight.
Our newest nonprofit investee Longmont Community Justice Partnership -- a powerhouse organization doing amazing work!
