I’m running a stupid long event to help a good cause. I'm raising money to benefit Philly Bully Team.  Philly Bully Team is a foster based, bully breed rescue located in Philadelphia. They rescue, rehabilitate and rehome Philadelphia's most at risk pitbulls and pitbull type dogs. They frequently pull dogs who are in great need of behavioral or medical intervention from the city shelters death row. Todd is a dog that needs little introduction. He was rescued by Phillybullyteam two years ago when his breeder discarded him because Todd had neurological defects. Finding a home for a dog with special needs is so difficult, but thankfully people like Tina exist. Tina is not only Todd's mom, she is an active volunteer for the rescue and has fostered over 100 dogs, including Moms and large litters of puppies with Phillybullyteam. She spoils Todd and she gives him the absolute best life possible that most dogs could only dream of. Unfortunately, Todd has fallen ill and he's currently in critical care at the hospital. His colon is not working like it should and it doesn't seem like his brain is communicating with his colon to allow him to go to the bathroom. This is not a condition that Todd could live with so our hope is that was supportive care and further testing and diagnostics, the issue can be fixed but as of right now… He's in really bad shape Tina has already invested so much time, love and money into this special-needs dog and we think it's only fair that we do our best to raise money to help her and Todd get through this difficult time. Hazel is a dog that Phillybullyteam rescued in December 2021. She came to us with a litter of puppies. Since then, all of her puppies have been adopted, but Hazel has been left behind. In the almost 7 months that we have had her, Hazel has not received one single application for adoption. Her only requirements is that she is your only dog and that she needs someone who’s comfortable working on crate training with her. 

Being that absolutely nobody has shown interest in Hazel, we felt that getting her into a board and train where she can work on her quirks would greatly improve her chances of finding a forever home. 
Her focus will be her dog reactivity along with crate training. This is a great opportunity for Hazel to work on basic skills and hopefully find her forever family.

What sets Phillybullyteam apart from most other rescues is that, we are willing to take on dogs without knowing what their temperament or behavior is. It’s a big risk on our end, but typically it is also a big reward because we are able to help out a dog that nobody else wants to help. 

With that risk, comes a larger financial burden of being able to afford rehabilitation training for any dogs we taken who may be exhibiting behavior issues beyond in home training.

To us, training and the mental health of the dogs in our care, is just as important as the physical health. People are so generous and are always willing to donate when we have a big medical case, unfortunately the same cannot be sad when a dog in our car needs training. 

We have started this go fund me to raise money for a dog named Freddie Mercury. He was a dog that we took in, sight unseen, who needed our help desperately as he was abandoned by his family. 

Freddie came to us at about four months of age. He was poorly socialized. He was taken into an amazing foster home who socialized him well with their pets and children. Soon after that, he was adopted out. Freddie has since developed behavior issues that have caused him to be returned to the rescue. He is under a year old and is experiencing some reactivity towards other dogs and over arousal with humans.  

We truly believe that Freddie is a great dog and he is a dog worth investing in. This is why we have chose to send him to Jay’s k9 universe for an eight week board and train program where he will get proper decompression, a reset, and he will learn structure and boundaries and come out being his best self. He needs this training in order to be able to find a forever home.

We struggle daily to raise money for the training cost that many of our dogs need to be successful. However, we also don’t believe in cutting corners for our dogs. Please consider a donation towards Freddie's board and train and show him that you believe in him just as much as we do.
