Recently we shared about the sweet chocolate lab found limping along 69 in Bullard TX, and today we finally have answers. Rufus’s left leg is completely separated from his hip joint, and he will need orthopedic surgery to have it screwed back into place. The estimated cost for his surgery is $1,600‼️

Just a few weeks ago, Lady Bug’s life was almost over. She was sitting in Smith County Animal Control, scheduled for euthanasia, with no one coming for her. We couldn’t let her story end that way. We brought her into our rescue and promised her a second chance.

Now, this sweet girl is facing another battle. Lady Bug has developed a large mammary tumor on her breasts, measuring over 2 inches wide. Mammary tumors are unfortunately very common in female dogs who have been bred or never spayed. Some of these tumors can be benign, but many are cancerous and can spread quickly if left untreated. For Lady Bug, surgery isn’t optional. It’s her only chance at a long, healthy, and pain free life.

At Pawsitive Place Rescue, we rely solely on donations to continue saving dogs like Lady Bug. Every medical bill, every bag of food, it’s only possible because of our community. Without help, we cannot continue giving dogs like her a chance.

Today is Giving Tuesday, and it’s a day that reminds us why we do what we do. This summer, many of you helped us save Remington after he was hit by a car — and because of the strength of this incredible community, he’s now living his happiest life. Today, we are asking for that same love for Ringo. Ringo was hit by a car, leaving him with severe injuries and in immense pain. His previous caretaker, unable to afford the urgent medical care he needed, was heartbreakingly considering euthanasia. No dog should ever face losing their life simply because treatment is too expensive. We stepped in to make sure Ringo got a fighting second chance. After an emergency assessment with lots of x-rays, it’s clear that Ringo urgently needs a left back leg amputation as well as surgery to repair a broken tibia on the opposite leg. Without these procedures, he cannot walk, rest comfortably, or live anything close to a pain free life. Your support is what makes these miracles possible. Truly we can’t do this without you. Lincoln was found in Berryville, TX, with a leg that had been traumatically broken and never treated. The bone is exposed, and every single day he is in pain. Despite this, Lincoln still wags his tail, smiles, and tries to walk as if nothing is wrong.
