Hunger Strike! Help Us Buy Food For Gaza
Hi everyone,
My name is Austin and I am the President of a nonprofit organization called Operation Realife. We have been delivering humanitarian aid on the ground in Gaza since the start of this year. I have been advocating for Palestinian families for more than a year, and I have never witnessed a greater need for aid. Tens of thousands of people are at extreme risk of starvation in the Gaza Strip.
On Wednesday May 13th I began my hunger strike to stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and to demand an end to the blockade of aid on the Gaza Strip.
Every donation made to this campaign will help us fund food distribution initiatives that will feed thousands of people on the ground in Gaza, Palestine.
You can join me and many others who are hunger striking right now to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza. Our demand is simple: let aid into the Gaza Strip as it has been more than seventy days and zero humanitarian aid has entered the Gaza Strip.
Everyone can participate in some way, and I encourage you to participate in a way that is safe for you.
Solidarity Fasting - abstain from food for a short period of time, skipping one meal a day for a defined period, or fasting for twenty four hours to raise awareness.
Short Term Hunger Strike - commit to fasting for a few days (typically 1–3 days). This level is common in group actions and is generally safe for most healthy adults, especially with adequate hydration.
Rotational Hunger Strike - Participants take turns fasting for set periods (e.g., each person fasts for 1–3 days, then hands off to another). This approach maintains a continuous hunger strike while reducing health risks for individuals.
Prolonged Hunger Strike - fast for an extended period (more than 3 days, sometimes weeks), usually consuming only water. This level carries increasing health risks and should only be undertaken with medical supervision.
