Help Kids Play: Support a Minneapolis Area Youth Soccer Club
Help North East United Soccer keep children safe, supported, and playing — fund emergency scholarships for families affected by recent immigration activity in Minneapolis.
When a child steps onto the soccer field, they aren’t just chasing a ball — they’re finding stability, friendship, confidence, and hope. For many families in northeast Twin Cities, North East United Soccer Club is more than a team: it’s a community lifeline. Recent immigration enforcement activity has left several families suddenly facing financial hardship, fear, and disruption. Now some of our players are at risk of losing the one place that helps them feel normal.
Due to the current situation, our club has exhausted our scholarship funds that we allocate to families every year. We are raising money for emergency scholarships to keep these kids on the roster, paying for registration and practice. Your gift will ensure that displacement or sudden economic strain doesn’t take away practices that build resilience, tournaments that spark joy, or teammates who become family.
Why this matters
- Stability: For kids experiencing upheaval at home, consistent practices and games provide routine and emotional safety.
- Belonging: Soccer helps children build social bonds and language skills, and gives parents a positive space in the community.
- Opportunity: Scholarships allow talented kids to continue training and competing, opening doors to future leadership, education, and college pathways.
How funds will be used:
- Scholarships for registration and season fees
- Replacements for lost gear (cleats, shin guards, uniforms)
- Travel assistance for tournaments and transportation
- A small emergency fund for immediate family needs related to participation (maximum transparency and receipts provided)

North East United Soccer Club has served local youth for years with clear fiscal stewardship and a commitment to inclusivity. We will:
