My Story: Ride for Rob
Hi, my names Paddy and on Friday, 21st November 2025, mine and my family’s world changed. My brother tragically lost his life to suicide. He was full of plans, full of enthusiasm, and full of life—especially when it came to cycling. Just before he passed, he had bought himself brand new cycling garments and equipment.
I’m not a cyclist. In fact, the idea of taking on a long-distance ride would normally be completely out of my comfort zone. But that’s exactly why I’ve chosen to do it.
In his memory, and to raise vital support for a charity dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention, I will be cycling from Worcester to Land’s End on January 2nd 2026, aiming to raise as much money as possible in 5 weeks. The trip is due to take around 3 days with an overall distance of 285 miles.
My chosen charity is Movember, they’re a dedicated suicide prevention and mental health awareness charity making sure that people understand the importance of speaking out your feelings and thoughts to save them snowballing up. Nothings worth keeping in.
I’ll be using Rob’s bike and all the equipment he never got to use. Every mile I ride will be for him. This journey is a tribute to the life he lived, the silent struggles he faced, and above all a warning call to check in on your friends whenever you get the chance.
My goal is simple:
To honour Rob, to help make sure more people get the support they need before it’s too late, and to show others that it’s bloody okay to speak your mind.
If you’re able to donate—no matter the amount—you’ll be helping save lives, support families, and bring hope to people who desperately need it. And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page. Awareness matters.
Thank you for reading, for supporting, and for helping me carry Rob’s hobby into awareness.
