For those who don’t know my name is José. Born and raised by Portuguese parents in Co.Mayo…This year for me is about making myself comfortable in the uncomfortable. In the past couple of months I’ve been challenging myself to be the best version of myself - In doing so I’m taking part in the Dublin City Half Marathon. I decided to fundraiser for Mental Health Ireland as mental health is something everyone struggles with. In April of 2025 many of us tragically lost our friend Graz. Seeing first hand how valuable life is I want to advocate that talking heals. Please do not suffer in silence. For this fundraiser I will be running a 100km Ultramarathon through the Sahara dessert. This will will be one continuous event where participants have to be totally self sufficient, carrying their own food, water, sleeping bag, spare clothes and safety equipment. It will be a really tough test both mentally and physically. Above all it will be an exciting adventure in aid of a very important cause.

Hi, my name is Luke and I will be running in June with aims of promoting men’s mental health. I will be aiming to run 150km in the month of June as well as hopefully donating the €500 goal to mental health Ireland to help those in need.

Men’s mental health is something that I believe needs to be spoken about more and better resources be offered to everyone who needs it.

First of all for those who don’t know me my name is Ewan Kenny and I am 22 years old. Mental health is something incredibly close to my heart. It’s a battle that so many people face, often in silence, and I believe it’s time we break that silence. That’s why I’ve decided to challenge myself by running a half marathon—not just for personal achievement, but to raise awareness and funds for mental health support.

This cause means everything to me. Whether it’s struggling personally, supporting loved ones, or simply understanding how vital mental well-being is, I know that access to the right help can make all the difference. Too often, people suffer alone because they don’t have the resources or support they need. That needs to change.

By donating, you’re not just supporting me on race day—you’re helping to make sure that mental health services continue to be available for those who need them most. Every contribution, big or small, brings us one step closer to a world where no one has to fight their battles alone.
