Music, Massage and Memories
Both the music therapy program, which occurs weekly on the Fairmount Pavilion and the massage therapy program, which occurs twice per month on the Fairmount, Friedman and Beachwood Pavilions (dementia care), stood out to the Teen Board as programs we want to ensure receive funding.
As a result of music therapy, residents have increased attention and cooperation, and greater socialization. Additionally, massage therapy helps reduce stress, relieve muscle tension and lower blood pressure. These are only a few of the programs’ many health benefits.
The Teen Board learned about these programs by experiencing a music and massage therapy session. We were able to witness first hand the positive effects of both programs. Residents were noticeably more relaxed. Following the sessions they voiced their appreciation. Family members of the residents have also seen their loved ones meaningfully respond to the sessions.
Our goal is to raise $6,000. Your donation will positively impact the lives of 138 residents living on the three pavilions. On behalf of the 2019/2020 Teen Philanthropy Board, we sincerely thank you for your consideration and support!
