6 YEARS!!

6 years ago I decided instead of people wishing me a happy birthday on social media & in real life I would like to raise money for animals in need.  Last year we had our best year with $3375 raised -can we beat it this year???

A few years in my Nov 24 birthday buddy, and fellow animal lover, Rob 'Blasko" Nicholson (bassist for Ozzy Osbourne and manager of Zakk Wylde, Zakk Sabbath, Black Veil Brides) joined the crusade.  

Gloria Butler (manager and wife of Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler) also has a late Nov birthday & joined us last year! 

Gloria is an animal lover and advocate.  I remember years ago going to a cat show with Gloria and Geezer where they rescued 2 kittens and since that time she has continued to rescue animals and has been actively involved in animal welfare.  

This year we will be raising money for:

Kitten Rescue Los Angeles  - Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 1,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. Since they began, they have rescued and placed over 17,000 cats into loving homes. Thousands more have been helped through our volunteer-fueled education and outreach programs.

Martin and Marianne's cat Spaghetti recently had to undergo surgery to save his life from a birth defect. Luckily, Spaghetti's life was saved due to the overwhelming generosity of the internet, who raised over $8,000 for the little guy! When this was first announced, 1Kids (Mike) and Nowacking (Jessi) of Elite3/Pokémon 'Bridged promised to run a long livestream on Sunday April 13th if the money was raised. We are now fulfilling that promise.

But we also realized that such a stream could be a great opportunity to raise more money, however much that may be, for other kittens that need help. There are lots of adorable, loving cats out there that don't get as lucky as Spaghetti. Any money that can be donated to organizations like Kitten Rescue in LA will help tremendously. If we can raise even a dollar during our livestream, that'll be better than raising nothing.

As such, we'll be offering incentives before and during the stream to allow people to have fun with their donations. We will be streaming ourselves playing a Pokémon game (LeafGreen), and your donations can influence what we do! Certain things will be announced beforehand, such as the ones you see now, and others will be offered during the stream itself. For instance, if we can't choose where to go or what to do, we may say "Next person to donate $5 gets to tell us to do _______", etc. Again, we might not raise much or anything at all, but if we do raise something, it'll be better than if we raised nothing.
