Support Jessica's Medical Mission to Kenya – Team 16-2025
My name is Jessica and I am a Registered Nurse who lives in Wyoming.
My goal when I became a Registered Nurse was to make a difference. Through my education in nursing, I was able to establish a career for myself that has not only allowed me to be a provider for my family, but it has also given me the opportunity to have fulfillment in my work. The impact of becoming a nurse has given me a sense of pride in being able to give back to my patients.
A medical mission is an opportunity for growth. It will provide me with a unique opportunity to work in a clinical setting that will provide healthcare to community members within Migori, Kenya. This mission will also allow me to immerse myself in the local culture and learn about healthcare on a global scale.
As a nurse, my goal is to work myself out of a job by educating patients with information so that they are able to make informed decisions when it comes to healthcare.
One of the biggest blessings in my career is being present with patients who are facing an unknown outcome or situation. My role as a nurse has allowed me to provide comfort, reassurance, and ease anxiety or worry in situations where patients find themselves navigating the medical world.
